I've been thinking lately
I wish I could write a letter to my high school sewing teacher.
I wish that I could show her
what I do with fiber art now. I would say,
"GUESS WHAT?!? I follow patterns now!"
She'd be so shocked,
I just know it.
Then I would follow up with "I make the patterns too! So I guess all that free handing in sewing paid off."
She would shake her head just as she did
every time
I refused to use a pattern in sewing.
I wish I could fill her in
on my love for each different stitch and the time each piece takes.
I wish I could show her all the colors and talk to her about my yarn hording problem
and how its not a problem
unless I don't use it.
I would love to hear her ideas
for projects and whether things are sensible or not.
I can't even imagine
the amount
of smiling and laughing
we would do.
And I really wish I could say "Thank you!"
